Return to Work After Retirement

When you retire from the electrical industry, you may work in other industries and continue to receive the Plan's Retiree Benefits coverage. However, your Retiree Benefits coverage under the Plan will be suspended if you return to work in the electrical industry, except for certain very limited exceptions. Your Retiree Benefits coverage will terminate if you go to work for an employer in the electrical industry who is not required to make contributions on your behalf to an IBEW-NECA-sponsored health and welfare fund. If you are considering returning to work, review carefully the information on this page and in the SPD in order to make sure you comply with the notification requirements and understand the financial ramifications of your actions.
